Dementia Friendly Billings
Dementia Friendly Billings works to raise dementia awareness and develop respect and inclusion for persons with dementia, their care partners, and their families. Their presentations are designed to raise understanding of dementia, define dementia, educate about warning signs, and share tips on compassionate communication. Their partners include Big Sky Senior Services, the Alzheimer's Association, Adult Resource Alliance, RiverStone Health, Intermountain Health, Highgate Senior Living, Billings Clinic, and community volunteers.
Memory Cafe is a safe place for people with memory loss and their caregivers to feel comfortable and enjoy an activity. Activities are created for all to participate in, have fun, learn, and support each other. Join us the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the Billings Public Library, 510 North Broadway. Yellowstone County Guardianship Council
The Yellowstone County Guardianship Council (YCGC) is a volunteer organization of professionals and community members who operate under the umbrella of Big Sky Senior Services. The Council serves as a long-term advocate for cognitively incapacitated individuals who reside in Yellowstone County, assisting with healthcare and daily living decisions when no family is willing or able to provide this for the individual.
At this time, we're is not seeking new members. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a council member, please call 406-259-3111. You must be willing for us to conduct a criminal background check and regularly attending Council meetings. |
